About KEMET Corporation
Initially settled in 1919 by Union Carbide Corporation as KEMET Laboratories, KEMET Corporation is a main provider of electronic segments. At first, Union Carbide wished to succeed via an acquisition of Cooper Research Company, which had built up a company that could be utilized in the assembling of vacuum tube parts. In 1958, KEMET changed its concentration to tantalum capacitors, and in 1969 entered the market of clay capacitors. KEMET Electronics Corporation split away from Union Carbide in 1990, and after two years opened up to the world on the New York Stock Exchange with the image KEM, finishing all ties with Union Carbide. KEMET procured the tantalum specialty unit of EPCOS AG in 2007, Evox Rifa Group Oyj and Arcotronics Italia S.p.A. in 2008, and Niotan Incorporated and Cornell Dubilier Foil LLC in 2012. As of late in 2017, KEMET bought a controlling portion of NEC Tokin, presently renamed TOKIN Corporation, which makes electronic modern and car parts.
